How To Get Here by Car
We are located between Nanaimo (45 minutes to the south) and Courtenay (45 minutes to the north), along the east coast of Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada. Our address is 420 Horne Lake. Rd, which is located between the Island Hwy 19 and the Oceanside Hwy 19a. We are a 2.5-3 hour drive north of Victoria/Sydney on the south end of Vancouver Island, and 2-3 hours drive from Tofino on the west side of the Island.
If you are coming from the mainland in B.C., we are approximately a 4 hour journey from Vancouver, B.C., which includes a 1.5 – 2 hour BC Ferries ride from either Horseshoe Bay (North Vancouver) to Departure Bay (downtown Nanaimo); or from Tsawwassen (South Vancouver) to Duke Point (South Nanaimo). Please note: reservations are recommended to avoid potentially long waits at ferry terminals, particularly at peak times or in high tourist season.
B.C. Ferry schedule is available at www.bcferries.com.
After your arrival to any ferry terminal on southern Vancouver Island, follow the Island Highway 19 north towards Courtenay and Campbell River. Turn right off the highway at Horne Lake. Rd. (15 km north of Qualicum Beach) and continue down the hill for approximately 1 km. Our driveway is marked #420 and is the first driveway on your left after Olympic Rd. If you reach the railroad tracks, you’ve gone too far.
If you are driving from the north part of the island, simply turn left off of the Island Highway 19 or turn right off the scenic Oceanside Highway 19a onto Horne Lake Rd, where you will find us at #420, between the railroad tracks and Olympic Rd.
If you are driving from Washington State, you can drive over the border and follow the directions from Vancouver, B.C. Alternatively, depending on the time of year, you can take the Coho ferry from Port Angeles to downtown Victoria, B.C., or your can take a Washington State ferry from Anacortes, WA to Sydney, B.C. on Vancouver Island. Please note that these routes can add significant travel time to your journey, and that schedules are not consistent throughout the year.
